Life's a journey...you're just starting out. You now have 'best' friends you haven't even met yet, 'waiting' for you to someday come in to their lives. A Famous poem by Robert Frost that might help:

"Time heals all wounds".... corney, maybe, but there's a reason that it's an "old" saying...it's TRUTH.
You've been cut (ouch), you're just now putting the bandage on. It'll be sore for awile, but in just a "few" weeks there will barely be a scar. A thought will pass through your confident self asking "what the h*ll was I so upset about....life's good".

So why am I posting here?
Because in your heart you know there's GOT to be something out there that resembles the Gospel that Jesus taught.
I grew up in a church where if one of the Elders or Deacons or just anyone were missing and someone was sick, they would send around a calendar for people to sign up and provide meals for the family during the illness. The Gospel was never about brownie points and attendence....it was exactly was Jesus said it was - to LOVE your neighbor and help them get through this life, which can be very difficult at times.

I WENT TO CHURCH THIS MORNING....
by Mary inafter the distastful and depression memorial at the kingdom hall last wednesday night, i guess i just felt the need to go somewhere else this morning for easter so i drove around.......i was going to go to the presbyterian church but the service wasn't untill 11:00am....ditto for the lutheran and united churches too, so i ended up going to the catholic church (of all places!
) because the service started at 9:30am.
never been to a catholic service before, (except for one wedding and one funeral years ago).

And somehow, when the priest asked the congregation "...Have you renounced Satan and all his empty promises?" I couldn't help but see Michael Corleone in that scene from The Godfather, standing there accepting communion and being asked the same question.
ROFLMAO.........Balsam: wow, what a powerful experience. Sounds like a wonderful congregation.... What a nice Easter present.

First of all, thanks for your military service AND congrats on 500 posts.
You're right, the military won't be very sympathic.... they're not "built" that way. First, find out what your options are through them (limited, probably) then take that info to your congressman. If you have certain medical proofs, then you need to get the representative's office to make sure they treat you right. (the chain of command hates the intervention, but it's easier to comply and just do it - that, they do understand).
One last thing, there are alternative effective therapies that can complement your treatment. I have osteoarthritis in the knee and use an over-the-counter wholestic compound (pill) ... it's like night and day. I was limping in pain previously, now I only notice it occasionally.
